The Marion County Historical Village Festival of Trees will be held next week. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 24th attendees will have a chance to visit the historical village and view over 40 trees on display. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite tree by placing a donation in the container next to the tree of their choice. President of the Marion County Historical Society Marla Suter tells KNIA/KRLS News there are plenty of diverse trees for people to enjoy. Suter says a tree titled “Blue Christmas” will be featured that is Elvis Presley themed. She says the Grand Theater always has great trees on display and this year this year a local pizza shop is donating a tree that is 16 feet tall. Suter says there will also be different activities held throughout the weekend that include a scavenger hunt for children, live entertainment in the chapel, silent auctions as well as a bake sale. The event is free and open to the public, for more information contact the Marion County Historical Society.
