The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad will have a lot of talent in its starting five this season. It all starts with senior Katie Keitges, who averaged 23.4 points per game and shouldered a lot of playmaking assignments. This season, the Panthers hope to get more players involved in the offense. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports Junior Maggie Wilkins and others will be called on to make more of a contribution. Along with Wilkins, who scored 13.1 points per game a season ago, Tara Uitermarkt and Marley McKay will have to pick up some of the slack left behind by senior departures. Uitermarkt adds he expects to not only dress a few freshmen for varsity, but they could see some early season time. He adds they have several freshmen they are looking at to fill those varsity slots.
