Thrive Knoxville will present Living Windows, Knoxville’s annual kick-off to the holiday season, tomorrow on the square in downtown Knoxville from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will feature over 15 local vendors who will sell or give out food as well as carolers and horse drawn carriage rides. Elly Shaw with Thrive Knoxville tells KNIA/KRLS News the annual event will begin with Santa and Mrs. Claus coming into town on a fire truck. Shaw says after Santa and Mr. Claus arrive, the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce will conduct their first ever Snowball Drop where participants can collect up to three ping pong balls with different deals for Small Business Saturday. She says following the ball drop will be the annual tree lighting on the south side of the courthouse lawn. The square will also feature the annual holiday decorated windows with local community and school groups being featured in many of the windows and businesses. There will be activities for children, including Santa and Mrs. Claus at The Grand Theater from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. The annual Wreath Auction will also be held in the Courthouse rotunda throughout the evening. More information can be found on Facebook by searching for Living Windows – Knoxville, Iowa.
