The top five for the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad should be one of the more talented groups in the area. After that, it is a question mark as to who will get minutes off the bench. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports his first five, Katie Keitges, Tara Uitermarkt, Maggie Wilkins, Marley McKay and Charlee Heffron will be relied upon to get the bulk of the scoring and minutes, but off the bench he is still looking for players that will spell the starters when needed. He adds the starters have shown great leadership already and know the younger girls will make a few mistakes along the way. The Panthers actually get a run through tonight against Ottumwa in their Pride Game at Knoxville High School. Admission to the game is five dollars for adults and three dollars for students however, for every item brought to the gate, fans will receive one dollar off of admission.
