The PCM girls basketball team is preparing to face another tough slate in the Heart of Iowa Conference. The Mustangs do have quite a bit of returning talent, but Head Coach Jeff Lindsay says that the other contenders in the league have similar situations when it comes to returners.

“Well it definitely hasn’t gotten any easier from last year. The top three teams in our conference last year, North Polk, Gilbert and Roland-Story did have a little bit of graduation, but not a lot that’s probably going to affect them very much, and they have a lot of returning players back. We’re just hoping right now we can be in the top half of the conference. We’re hoping that every game that we play, regardless if it’s home or away that we’re being competitive, and we’re putting ourselves to be in position to be in the game going into the fourth quarter.

The PCM girls are 1-1 on the season and will open conference play next Friday at Saydel, as part of a girl-boy doubleheader that will air live on the KRLS3 stream.
