Coming off an 8-14 season last year, the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad looks to reverse some of the fortunes from a year ago. The Panthers went 0-5 in games decided by seven points or fewer, and two years ago, they led nine games at the half, only to lose all nine games. Coach Jeff Larson tells KRLS Sports there is an air of confidence around the team that he has not seen in the last two seasons.

Larson:
“They’re way more confident then they have been and Kieren played a lot of basketball and Spencer has played a lot of basketball, so I think they are going to confident, and expect to win some games. We’re not going to win every game, and we know that, but they’re going to expect to win some games and be OK.”

Larson adds the big key is Kieren Nichols is a junior this season, coming back stronger after being asked to be the scoring leader as a sophomore last year, and move-in Spencer Hixson has added some depth to the rotation. Knoxville will start the season off Tuesday against PCM, which is our first basketball broadcast on 95.3 KNIA.
