The Knoxville Wrestling Squad gets the season underway tonight hosting a triangular with rival Pella from the Little Hawkeye Conference and Nevada out of the Heart of Iowa Conference. The Panthers are young this season with many in the line up tonight freshmen and sophomores. Coach Doug Hatch tells KRLS Sports wrestling quality programs like Pella, a close rival, and Nevada, whose coach is a close friend of Hatch, is a good way to get the season started.

Hatch:
“They both usually have competitive teams and full line ups so it should be a fun night. It’s home, and you know Pella is always a big one and the Nevada coach I went to high school with so it’s always a fun one for me. It should be a good one.”

Pella is 1-1 in dual meets after splitting a triangular in Ottumwa on Tuesday night, this is also Nevada’s season opener. First bouts are scheduled to get underway at 6:00pm.
