1-7 was not where the Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad was planning on being at this time of the season. But the Sabers have that record due to offensive struggles. They are shooting just 28% from the field, 24% from three point range and 41% from the free throw line. That said, the Sabers defense has been holding opponents just 38.3 points per game this season. Senior player Kaya DesPlanque tells KRLS Sports the defense is where it needs to be, and she just hopes the offense catches up.
DesPlanque:
“Definitely our defense is going very well. I think we struggle with offense and making shots, but our defense is fire. We will make sure no one gets past us and we will always get those steals.”
The Sabers have 61 steals on the season led by Chloe Swank’s 12.
