2019-20 group of Career Academy of Pella Apprentinceship Students met Governor Reynolds in July 2019

One of the fastest growing aspects of the Pella Community School District is the apprenticeship program through the Career Academy of Pella. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the model the district has been using has been leading others in the state to add the option for students to work for local business while earning a wage, as well as professional certification and progress towards high school graduation and potential college credits. Ebeling says in 2019, the Pella School District has expanded their apprenticeship offerings, which now includes welding, engineering technicians, culinary arts, and nursing, with more growth expected in the coming year, all done in partnership with several local businesses and organizations. Apprenticeship programs at the Pella Community School District are open to all area students, and parents with questions on how to get their students to join can contact the administration or high school offices for more details.
