The PCM girls basketball team has identified a plethora of areas to improve in over the winter break. One of those is getting points in the paint. The main two post players, Kate McCarthy and Riley Hjortshoj, average 2.9 and 1.5 points per game, respectively. Head Coach Jeff Lindsey says that his team’s presence in the paint needs improvement, and those two have accepted the challenge.

“We know that if we’re going to be successful in there that we have to have good presence in there. And those two had a tough go of it early on, and they really took it to heart and they’ve worked hard in practice the last couple weeks and they’ve also rebounded the ball well for us. But I think they’ve just found a comfort level where their confidence is starting to spark a little more.”

The 4-4 Mustangs return to the floor Friday at Roland-Story.
