It has been a battle to stay healthy for the Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad the early part of the season. While Coach Trent Verwers is not making that a reason his team is one-and-eight heading into their game against I-35 on Saturday, two of his players have either not been a full strength or are out due to injury. Brooke Roby has been dealing with the after effects of an illness during the fall, which cut short her volleyball and cross country seasons, and Rylee Dunkin, who has a wrist injury that will keep her out until mid-January. Verwers says Roby is starting to feel better and looked more like herself in the Sabers last game, a 47-43 setback to rival Melcher-Dallas. He adds the coaching staff gave the girls as much time off over the break as possible. Twin Cedars will take on I-35 at Wells Fargo Arena this Saturday with the tip scheduled for noon.
