The Warren County Attorney’s Office has had a busy year looking back on 2019, seeing a rise of criminal cases from 2018. Warren County Attorney Doug Eichholz tells KNIA News court cases have risen approximately 255 for the year of 2019, including cases down to traffic citations or felonies. Eichholz also said while the drug crimes prosecuted as felonies has dropped, drug cases are still significant and factor into other crimes his office has to deal with.

“I think what you would find if you dug down deep into the other cases we deal with, is that there a lot of times is a drug component to it. Whether it is a burglary or a theft, when you look at why these people are committing these offenses, there is a lot of times a drug component to it so that is what we deal with a fair amount.”
