The Pleasantville basketball teams were back in action Friday evening, traveling to Interstate 35 for a West Central Conference tilt. A slow start was a major setback for the Trojan girls, as they fell 44-40. The Roadrunners raced out to a 14-3 lead after the first quarter, but Pleasantville was in it from that point forward, going into halftime with a 23-11 I-35 lead. Pleasantville outscored I-35 29-21 in the second half, but it wasn’t quite enough to complete the comeback. Sophomore Adi Adreon led the way with 22 points. Pleasantville falls to 4-3 overall, and 0-3 in the conference.

The Trojan boys fell behind early, but picked up a 52-41 win in their first game of the decade. I-35 led 13-10 after one, but Pleasantville came back to take a 23-20 lead into halftime. The Trojans steadily increased their lead throughout the rest of the game to seal the victory. Teron Mount led the way offensively with 19 points, while Mason Scheve added 10. Pleasantville improves to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Both the Pleasantville girls and boys will be back in action this afternoon, taking on Albia in a non-conference affair. The girls game starts things off at 2:00 p.m. at Albia High School.
