The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday. The board continued their discussion regarding the potential purchase of 25 hand held radios for the district to which District Business Manager Craig Mobley asked the board to table the discussion once more until the next school board meeting to give Mobley time to continue research on a variety of radios as well as to make an itemized list as to where each radio will be needed. They approved an overnight trip request for the Mock Trial team to stay in Sioux City on Wednesday, March 11th to compete in a regional competition on March 12th. The board discussed district and board goals with an emphasis on mental health as well as reviewed board appointments on committees. They discussed communications with the community as well as reviewed board meetings policy to which the Board President agreed to not deviate from. The board discussed a collaborative effort regarding agenda creation as well as potentially lowering the superintendents spending authority to $5,000 from $10,000 where it currently stands, and approved the next meeting date, changed from January 27th to February 10th.
