A Knoxville man was arrested Monday for allegedly choking and hitting his girlfriend. According to court documents, law enforcement officers were called to the 1100 block of Woodland Drive in Knoxville following the report of a domestic disturbance in progress. When officers arrived they spoke with the victim, who told officers her boyfriend, 39-year-old Kevin Carlton of Knoxville, had choked her and hit her in the head multiple times. Officers observed red welts and scratches on the victim’s neck. Officers also spoke with the victim’s son who told officers he had seen Carlton choking his mother. Carlton was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing injury, a class D felony.
