Indianola Basketball Hosts Norwalk in Key Conference Clash

The Indianola basketball teams host Warren County rival Norwalk tonight in a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader, with the Indianola Hall of Fame class of 2020 also being inducted. The Indians girls sit at 5-1 in conference play, just a half game back of undefeated Grinnell, and face an improved Norwalk squad that is 4-3. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports after the loss loss to Urbandale on Tuesday, his squad needs to play better on offense.

“We have a ways to go offensively, and we need to keep developing our skills. We have to keep getting better at analyzing zones, and how to take advantage of mismatches. That comes on us as coaches, but our leaders need to step up on this team and I have no doubt they will do that.”

The Indians boys haven’t lost since their first matchup against the Warriors, with Norwalk star Bowen Born dropping 35 points, and have won 9 in a row since. Action can be heard live tonight on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off at 6:15.
