The Pella wrestling team will wrestle at home for the final time in the 2020 season tonight in a triangular meet. Grinnell and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont come to the Tulip City as the regular season draws to a close over the next week. Ryan Van Donselaar and Braydon Peterson both say it would be great to see a big crowd as they try to close out their home gym with victories.

“For me, [a big crowd] really changes the way I go into the match,” Van Donselaar says. “When I’m on the side warming up, and I hear the crowd cheering for Pella, it really gets me confident and ready to go out.”

“It would mean quite a bit, because in the town of Pella, wrestling isn’t that big of a sport,” Peterson says. “If we would fill the stands like the basketball games do on Friday nights, that would be amazing.”

Matches begin at 5:30 p.m. at Pella High School.
