The Pella City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance that would change the zoning at 405 Truman from light industry to community commercial. City Administrator Mike Nardini says an application was submitted by the owners of Bruxvoort’s Decorating Center, who intend to move into the fieldhouse currently housing De Kinderen Huis. Nardini says having a cornerstone store such as Bruxvoort’s move to that area will help potentially bolster additional commercial development in that area, which he says was laid out as a priority for that portion of the community in the most recent comprehensive plan. According to Owner of PRC Fitness Josh Visser, there will be a transition of the childcare facility into PRC over the next few months.
