The Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization’s (KRCO) 9th Annual Fundraising Extravaganza is just around the corner, and organizers of the event are wanting to remind residents the deadline to donate items is Wednesday, February 15th. KRCO’s 9th Annual Fundraising Extravaganza will be held at Dyer-Hudson Hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds on Saturday, February 29th. Maureen Nichols with KRCO tells KNIA/KRLS News admission to the event is completely free but the meal which is provided by Checkered Flag Concessions is $10. Nichols says attendees will come in, look at all the items during the silent auction which begins at 4 p.m. and can bid on whatever items they choose at that time. She says drivers will also be in attendance, so the silent auction is also a great time to get autographs. The live auction begins at 7 p.m. and Nichols says it is always a lot of fun to see the items and watch drivers bid on their own items as well. She says the whole event is just a fun time for everyone. Proceeds from the event help provide insurance policies, safety equipment and donations to drivers at the Knoxville Raceway.
