The Indianola City Council approved the contract for the Quail Meadows Lift Station at their most recent meeting, helping to facilitate the growth of Indianola near the Indianola YMCA. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the current lift station in the area was inadequate to serve the needs of 61 new homes being built in the area, so the council identified it as necessary to continue expansion.

“It’s an important piece of infrastructure that helps support growth in the area. Residential growth was a key goal for the community, and making sure we have the facilities in place to handle that growth is critically important.”

Waller also said the construction bid was awarded to local company Vanderpool Construction, so it will benefit local commerce, the homes in the area, and all residents as it new homes will expand the tax base.
