The City of Indianola is continuing to work on their budget for FY21, preparing for many of the projects that are planned for the next several years including the Water Resource Recovery Facility and the Indianola Downtown Streetscape project. Director of Finance Andy Lent tells KNIA News a direction from the council on the budget is to continue to be as careful as possible on tax rates.

“Right now our debt service levy is 87 cents per $1000, and we want to make sure we don’t go past $2. That’s with no valuation increase going into the future, so we think we are being very conservative and fiscally responsible as far as forecasting projects in the future and the borrowing that is going to be required for those.”
