KNIA/KRLS Radio with the help of the Knoxville Hy-Vee made a hefty food donation to the Knoxville High School Food Pantry. The food was collected during the annual KNIA/KRLS Food Drive and was delivered in the KNIA/KRLS Lil Big Red Radio Tuesday afternoon. Verlin Goodyk with the Knoxville Food Youth Initiative tells KNIA/KRLS News the Knoxville High School Food Pantry is open the first and third Monday of each month for students and families to receive food and items to help fight food insecurity throughout the district. Goodyk says it is important to help supply food for the people in Knoxville because some families are less fortunate than others. The KNIA/KRLS Food Drive in its 18th year kicked off this past November and ran throughout the holiday season, collecting food for local food shelves.
