The Mahaska and Marion County Women, Land, and Legacy will host a movie matinee showing “FarmHer: The Documentary” at the Knoxville Public Library located at 213 E Montgomery Street on Saturday, February 29. The event is free and open to the public. Popcorn and lemonade will be provided. “FarmHer: The Documentary” explores the important role women play in agriculture by sharing stories of women running farm operations and living on the land. Women, Land & Legacy is a USDA education and outreach program coordinated through the Women, Food & Agriculture Network that has impacted thousands of Iowa women in agriculture. Working locally in counties throughout the state WLL empowers women landowners and farmers to be agents of positive change in their communities through active participation, educational sessions and networking opportunities.
