The residents of Knoxville and the surrounding area came out to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum Saturday to take part in a Legislative Town Hall event which was hosted by State Senator Amy Sinclair and Representative Jon Thorup. Residents had the opportunity to hear from the legislators as well as ask questions and voice their concerns. Senator Sinclair tells KNIA/KRLS News she felt the event was a lively and productive debate. She says many topics were discussed during the event including school funding, animal cruelty and torture, violent behavior in classrooms as well as potential changes to Iowa speed limits. Sinclair says she loves a public forum that allows people to express their thoughts and ask questions about the things that matter to them instead of just hearing about the things that matter to her. Over twenty people attended the forum with additional forums planned for the third Saturday of each month of the 2020 legislative session.
