The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad has been waiting for over a week to get the class 4A regional underway, and tonight The Panthers will start their postseason road against Des Moines Hoover out of the Central Iowa Metro League. The Panthers have also been sitting and likely stewing on a regular season-ending loss to Fairfield last Tuesday. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls have taken this week to reset things and get ready for the challenge that Hoover will bring.

Uitermarkt:
“Couldn’t be happier with the overall season and the girls met some goals that we set, now we have to reset some goals for the postseason. At this point we’re zero and zero and going to look forward.”

This is not the first time Hoover and Knoxville have played. The Panthers and Huskies played in the regional opener in 2017 with Hoover pulling the upset in round one 47-40. The winner tonight gets a trip to Gilbert on Saturday. Hear the call on 95.3 KNIA starting with the pregame at 7:15pm.
