The Knoxville Girls Basketball’s postseason road takes them to Gilbert tonight. The Panthers will visit the eighth ranked team in class 4A for a regional semi-final today. The Panthers got to today’s game by dominating Des Moines Hoover in round one 74-28, while Gilbert was afforded a first round bye. Panthers Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports Gilbert runs a lot of set plays and his team will need to be aware of what goes on at all times.

Uitermarkt:
“They run a lot of little sets to get into their offense, a lot of four high where you’re going to see all four girls along the free throw line extended we don’t want them to score in those. We’re going to get locked in on defense. They’re really solid on both sides of the court, but it’s a game we think we can go out and get.”

The Panthers will also have to contend with the Tigers’ size and length as Gilbert averages around five/seven to six foot in most areas. You can hear the action on 95.3 KNIA with the pregame at 4:45pm and the tip off at 5:00pm.
