Several former Tulip City softball players are beginning another season of collegiate level competition this spring.

Former Pella Christian Eagles Emma Schnell, Lizzy Van Manen, and Natalie Fopma (Vos) are all again key members of their respective teams as juniors in college. Schnell is back as a starting pitcher for Northwestern College after missing most of her sophomore campaign, Fopma is a starting pitcher for Dordt University, and LIzzy Van Manen is the starting catcher for Jacksonville State in Florida after two sensational seasons with Northeast Mississippi Community College, where she was the NJCAA Division II Catcher of the Year.

Several former Lady Dutch players are competing in college as well – Sara Tallman enters her senior season with Central College as a three-time All-Region selection and the starting center fielder for a fourth season. Younger sister Sabrina is also on the Central roster.

Kinzi Van Wyk is starting her sophomore season with Lafayette after throwing 131 innings for the Leopards last spring. Maddie Parks, a 2019 Pella graduate, has already debuted for the UNI Panthers softball team as a pitcher.
