pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville girls basketball team has completed their second season in the West Central Conference. Partially due to injuries and a long losing streak in the middle of the season, the Trojans were unable to sustain much momentum throughout the year and only won three conference games. Head Coach Jeff Cook says that during the offseason, the focus needs to be more than just figuring out how to beat the teams in the conference.

“It’s kind of amazing, the teams in our league we thought were pretty good, they got beat fairly handily at the state tournament. Panorama and Van Meter both got beat pretty handily in the regional finals. So as good as they might look in our league, there are still people out there that are better. We want to aspire, if we want to get to the state tournament, we not only need to get better than the teams in our conference, we need to get better period.”

The Trojans finished 10th in the 11-team league with a 3-11 record.
