The PCM girls basketball team finished below .500 on the season, and will say goodbye to an all-state player in senior Regan Freland. She led the team in most statistical categories, and is one of four seniors who will depart this year’s team. However, the team will still return a good nucleus of talent. Head Coach Jeff Lindsay lays out some of the expectations for his returning players.
“We’ve got a nice core back with some experience, and that’s why I brought Paige [Steenhoek]. She’s going to probably have the opportunity to be thrown right into the mix next year. We have two sophomores, Delaney Baird and Emily Foster, that got better this year, and they’re going to be vying for quite a bit of opportunity next year. We’ve got three freshmen that I brought up at the very end to give them a taste of it, because I think with a little more seasoning and opportunity, they can step in and give us some minutes to help out as well.”
The Mustangs finished 10-13 overall and 7-7 in the Heart of Iowa Conference.
