pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville boys basketball team finished .500 overall and right in the middle of the pack in the West Central Conference. The Trojans started the season 2-0 before eventually moving to a 3-2 mark at Christmas Break.

After a 1-2 start to 2020, the Trojans proceeded to alternate wins and losses for the final 15 games of the season. Pleasantville went 1-1 in the postseason. They opened at home with their third win of the year over Interstate 35. The season came to an end in Van Meter with a loss to Woodward-Granger. Head Coach Joel Allman says his team gave it their all despite things not always going their way.

“With this group, not only myself, but the players and the parents and the community, we had high expectations for this group. There’s things that happened that were outside of our control, but we never used it as an excuse. What I really liked is we came every day to practice, every game, just ready to play and dealing with whatever circumstance is happening, we put our best effort forward. And that’s ultimately the best thing you can say about this group. They gave it everything they had.”

Pleasantville finished 11-11 overall, 8-8 in the West Central Conference, and graduates five seniors.
