The candidates who are running in the June primaries for statewide offices have been confirmed, after the filing deadline came to a close on Wednesday.

Running for US Senate:
Joni Ernst – Republican Incumbent
Michael Franken – Democrat
Kimberly Graham – Democrat
Theresa Greenfield – Democrat
Eddie Mauro – Democrat
Cal Woods – Democrat

US Representative District 3:
Cindy Axne – Democrat Incumbent
Bill Schafer – Republican
David Young – Republican

State Representative District 26:
Scott Ourth – Democrat Incumbent
Brooke Boden – Republican

State Representative District 25:
Stan Gustafson – Republican Incumbent
Caleb Short – Democrat
Ryan Marquardt – Democrat

State Representative District 42:
Kirsten Sunde – Democrat Incumbent
Aaron Sewell – Republican
Jacqueline Riekena – Republican

The filing deadline for all candidates wishing to have their name added to the ballot for the June 2nd primary was Wednesday. For the United States House of Representatives Second District, Republicans Steven Everly of Knoxville, Rick Phillips, Pella, Tim Borchardt of Iowa City, Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Ottumwa, Bobby Schilling of Le Claire will all be vying for the Republican nominee with Democrat Rita R. Hart running unopposed for the Democratic nominee.

For the Iowa State Senate, Republican Amy Sinclair filed her paperwork for reelection in District 14,  and will be running unopposed in the primary. In District 40, Republican Ken Rozenboom is running for reelection and is unchallenged in the Republican primary but will be challenged in the election by Democrat Lance Roorda who is running unopposed as the Democratic nominee.

In the Iowa House of Representatives, Republican Jon Thorup of District 28 and Republican Dustin Hite of District 79 are both running for reelection and are both running unopposed.
