The Simpson baseball team says goodbye to only two seniors after this canceled season, but the two senior backstops will have a lasting impact on the program moving forward. Head coach Nathan Roling tells KNIA Sports Truman Schmitt and Josh Breitbarth went through some of the toughest times the program has ever seen, but they battled through it to set a great example.

“They played the game the right way, played it hard, played it passionately, and played it smart. So both of them being catchers they were in natural leadership positions on the field. I know they were a very calming presence to this young group and this team, with how to do things and they will have a lasting impact on the program moving forward.”

The Storm went 3-4 on the young season before the cancellation.
