A fire destroyed a Pleasantville church early Monday morning. Just before 6 a.m. Monday crews respond to the corner of Dallas and Polk Streets in Pleasantville for the report of a fire at the Pleasantville Christian Church. When crews arrived they found the building fully engulfed in flames. The Pleasantville Fire Department along with Pleasantville EMS, Columbia Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Melcher-Dallas Fire Department, and Hartford Fire Department battled the fire and were assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasantville Police Department, Marion County Emergency Management and Mid-American Energy. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the building is a complete loss.
