The City of Indianola has recommended that while city parks will remain open, residents are advised to stay off the equipment. Indianola Police Captain Brian Sher tells KNIA News this decision was made to protect public health with guidance from public health officials.

“This does not mean you can’t walk through the park on your walk. As long as you are practicing social distancing with others, you can still enjoy a walk through the park, just don’t play or use any of the equipment. Another question I saw is who is going to enforce this, we will, the police will. We aren’t going to arrest anyone for playing on the equipment, but we are going to educate. That is part of our role right now, is education.”
