A multi-sport athlete at Pella Christian High School known for her speed is bringing that skill to one of the highest-paced Division III softball programs in the country — just blocks away from her own backyard.

Chloe Morgan announced this week she’s bound for Central College and the softball program led by Hall of Famer George Wares. Morgan looks forward to using her softball skills suited for the aggressive small-ball style the Dutch have been the benchmark of for multiple decades.

“I’m really excited because Coach Wares likes to play small ball and likes to go fast, and that’s the type of play I like to do too — bunting and stuff like that, and I’m excited to just run the bases, get a bunch of steals, and play in the outfield too.”

Morgan is a multiple-time state qualifying sprinter and medalist on the track and tied the all-time record for stolen bases at Pella Christian as a junior last summer, with 30 total.

Hear an interview with Chloe during this Monday’s Central College Radio Coaches Corner at 7 p.m., and again on Wednesday at 6 p.m. on the Radio Sports Page, both on 92.1 KRLS.
