Despite the suspension of spring sports, there’s been a lot to celebrate from Eagle Lane, including the multitude of athletes who have chosen to go compete in college.

Several of those are members of the Pella Christian Track and Field team, including previous state qualifiers Erica Nikkel, Bryant Agre, and Blake Veenstra.

Head Coach Keith Anderson says they, among several recent graduates, have built a tradition of athletes from Eagle Lane competing at the next level.

“I’m so proud of these kids, and yeah, the next step for them is the uncertainty right now might not be sitting well with them, but their futures are bright,” he says. “I have no doubt that whenever they get back to working out and competing–whether it’s still in high school or in college, that they have some bright futures ahead.”

Also among those is also sprinter Chloe Morgan, who intends to play softball and possibly compete during the indoor track and field season at Central College. Hear more from Morgan on tonight’s Central College Radio Coaches Corner, beginning at 7 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
