With the announcement of potential start dates for high school spring sports, it sheds a glimmer of hope that they will eventually return. At PCM, there is a multitude of students who only participate in spring sports, and would completely lose athletics for the school year if they are cancelled. Activities Director Greg Bonnett says that having the season is very important for the kids, and he is hopeful that it will eventually work out.

“The kids that only play spring sports, we have several of those, they only play spring sports for the most part. It’s sad. I know in the big picture, high school sports are not the most important thing in the world, but to a 16 or 17-year-old kid, or a senior who only plays spring sports, it’s pretty important. We’re just trying to encourage them, and be prepared for whatever may happen.”

The first practice date is May 1st, with most competition beginning on May 4th.
