In the event that spring sports is allowed to resume after May first ,that would mean the season would likely spill into the summer sports seasons of baseball and softball. Right now, no schedule updates from the boys and girls associations have been announced, although they did announce last week there could be changes. In the meantime, spring and summer sports will likely have to work with each other since several of the track and field athletes also play baseball and softball. Twin Cedars Girls Track and Field Coach Cam Parker tells KRLS Sports he would have no issues allowing his girls to play in a softball game over a track meet.

Parker:
“The way I view track is it gets us ready for other sports, but I would give that nod to Coach Dunkin and the softball team. We still have a team component in track but I see track as getting us better for other sports while still be competitive and having some fun.”

The Twin Cedars Softball Squad is looking to have a great season this summer with eyes on a possible run to the state tournament after last season’s breakthrough campaign that earned the Sabers a Bluegrass Conference title and a record of 29-9.
