Girl Scout Troops in Indianola have over 1200 boxes of cookies left to sell, after the selling season was cut short due to social distancing recommendations. Area troop leader Jennifer Sedlock tells KNIA News selling cookies funds all the programs and camps area girl scouts will attend, so she is asking for the community’s help.

“Most of our troops like to go camping, so those are things that wouldn’t be able to be funded because we wouldn’t be able to open up the camps to pay counselors or other staff to work there. They also wouldn’t have the money to do community service projects, the cookie money helps pay for those for them to be able to work for their badges, do their STEM events, go horseback riding, crafts, any of the many activities that they love to do, which changes year to year, but all of that is funded by these cookies.”
