National Library Week is this week. National Library Week is a week set aside each year to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. In addition to National Library Week, April is National Poetry Month. To help celebrate both occasions, the Knoxville Public Library will host a virtual book club meeting via Zoom and discuss with patrons their favorite poetry. Doctor Heather Libby with the library tells KNIA/KRLS News the library wanted to make the event fun and simple for everyone to take part in.She says no one needed to read anything, they just need to join the meeting and discuss some of their favorite poetry. Libby says it was fun for her to find some of her favorite poems from over the years and she is excited to see what other people’s favorites are as well.

Anyone who is interested in taking part in the virtual meeting is asked to email the library at knoxlib@knoxville.lib.ia.us to get the Zoom meeting link or visit the library website. To hear the complete interview with Libby, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
