The loss of spring sports has hit all local athletes hard, especially members of the class of 2020, and those with dreams of state championship gold.

Blake Veenstra was a medalist in both the shot put and discus throws in Class 2A last year, and this season, wanted to push himself to the top of the mountain after another off-season of training.
