election-1

Recently absentee ballot request forms were mailed to every registered voter in Marion County in preparation for this year’s June 2nd primary. The request forms need to be mailed back in no later than 5 p.m. on May 22nd for residents to be able to vote by absentee ballot in the upcoming primary.

According to Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia the county has also begun in person voting at the Auditor’s Office temporary location at the Old East Elementary building in Knoxville. Grandia tells KNIA/KRLS News residents can vote in person by using the west door of the East Elementary building and in-person voting will be the only business they will be allowed to do while visiting the Auditor’s Office.

Grandia says the county is still working on in-person voting for the election in November, and says due to COVID-19 the amount of precincts to vote at will be cut from 17 down to five with more information to come. Grandia would also like to remind residents when filling out an absentee ballot request form for the upcoming primary they need to indicate which party ballot they would like to receive.
