The cancellation of the spring sports season brought quite a bit of disappointment to all involved. While the student-athletes are the ones losing a chance to compete, coaches are losing the chance to do what they love as well. Chuck Sinclair was getting ready to coach the Pleasantville boys golf program for the first time this season, and says it was a disappointment when he found out he’d have to wait for next season.
“I took the job in November, right after volleyball season. I’ve pretty much coached high school volleyball off and on since 1991. So I was really super excited for a chance to work with the boys as their golf coach. We did quite a bit in the offseason to secure new golf bags, new golf balls and made out practice plans. It was quite a bit of a disappointment that we didn’t get a chance to do anything with spring golf this year.”
Only one senior will depart the program this season. Sinclair does plan to return next season as the boys golf head coach.
