Bethany Christian Services’ annual “Tour de Toren” event took place May 15 and 16 with individuals, socially-distanced friends and families, riding bicycles and running throughout the 24-hour period. Josh Cowman with the group says the event is held to build awareness and raise funds for Bethany’s core programs supporting children and families: The Stronger Beginnings, Storyline Project, and Start Small Project.

Riders, runners, and friends performing other physical challenges like burpees and pushups were able to register and seek donors/sponsors for their efforts. Through the efforts of the Tour de Toren registrants, sponsors and donors from all over the country, the event has been able to raise almost $40,000 of the $50,000 goal. Donations can still be made via as meeting the event goal allows for support for vulnerable expectant parents, mentor, and therapy services for children and families, as well as diapers for refugee families.
