As state legislators prepare to resume the legislative session following its suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic, State Representative Jon Thorup tells KNIA/KRLS News he hopes all his fellow legislators are prepared to work together to get the session done quickly. He says normally when there are long conversations or debates on certain proposed legislation or policy it is done when the legislators have more time but this time is different and he hopes the legislators can come together and come up with common sense solutions.

Thorup says as of now a lot of legislation is still wait and see as the state continues to analyze the impact COVID-19 has had and may have for the future. He says he expects the legislators to plan accordingly regarding the continued impact COVID-19 could have for the fall as well as next year’s legislative session.
