Some of our local high schools did not have to totally revamp their summer sports schedules following the go ahead from the boys and girls unions to play baseball and softball this summer. For Knoxville, Activities Director Ryan Paulsen tells KRLS Sports they will pick up the schedule on June 15th with few changes. He says one thing that has changed is for baseball there will be no varsity double headers this season and both baseball and softball will play fellow South Central Conference teams just one time instead of the usual home and home rotation. The question that needs answered is the non-conference teams that need to confirm their games with Knoxville.

Paulsen:
“The dates that we do have scheduled are dependent on what other schools in other conferences have scheduled, like the Little Hawkeye Conference if they are going to revamp what they are going to do. The message I have got from other non-conference schools’ ADs is we can play on the dates originally scheduled.”.

According to Knoxville’s South Central Conference online schedule, the Panther Softball Squad would open up June 15th with a home game against Southeast Warren while Baseball would open the next night on the road against Bondurant-Farrar. The Panthers’ first conference contest is June 19th against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in Eddyville.
