The 2020 season for the Twin Cedars Baseball Squad is all about themes. Coach Mark Schroeder tells KRLS Sports he wants his team to concentrate on fielding and the performance at the plate.

Schroeder:
“We’re going to try more zoning in on the bigger concepts and hopefully that will trickle down to them being more fluid and confident at what they can do. The fielding has to improve, I think we were under 900 as a team, and just putting the bat on the ball and having a more quality at bat.”

He says the fielding is one area that needs to improve. The Sabers had an .888 fielding percentage which was third in the Bluegrass Conference, but well off of conference leader Lamoni’s .931. Hitting is another area that the Sabers need to improve in as Twin Cedars finished last season with a .264 team batting average which was fifth in the conference. Schroeder thinks pitching will be one of the best parts of the squad and is confident that pitching will keep his team in most games. The Sabers had the best team ERA in the Bluegrass Conference last season at 3.21. Twin Cedars is scheduled to start its season at home against Murray on June 16th.
