The Twin Cedars Baseball Squad wants to challenge for the Bluegrass Conference title this year. But to get to the top of the BGC this summer, the Sabers will have to scale the Lamoni Mountain. The Demons are the defending conference champions and the favorite this summer as well. Sabers Coach Mark Schoeder tells KRLS Sports he is confident his team can contend, but it will have to take a strong effort to accomplish that.

Schroeder:
“They’re loaded, they have a great squad and a coach that’s really knowledgeable and just tons of talne. I believe we can play with them, we just need to play and do a lot of things at an almost perfect level and be better than what our craft is.”

Twin Cedars finished fifth in the Bluegrass Conference race last season with a 10-8 record. Schroeder adds that one of the themes he is getting across to his players is not to settle for middle of the pack or average. Twin Cedars will start the season June 16th at home against Murray.
