One player that first year Knoxville Softball Coach Carla Smith will rely heavily on for leadership on and off the field this summer is third baseman Maddy Findley. Findley has occupied the hot corner for nearly her entire high school career and has developed into one of the best all-around players in the area. Smith tells KRLS Sports Findley has been great to have on the team.

Smith:
“She has made strides and her leadership has been great at that corner. Offensively, she has been our strongest hitters that we can just depend on day in and day out, and it’s been a great transition to with her leadership.”

As a junior last season, Findley had her best season of her career finishing third in the team with 34 hits. She had 21 RBI, with a .391 batting average. Defensively she had a .958 fielding percentage on the season committing just four errors. Findley’s career will continue after this summer as she will enroll at Indian Hills Community College to play softball.
