After a spring of no sports, and speculation if summer sports would even happen, the Knoxville Softball Squad will take the field for the first time this summer with many of the girls playing their first organized sport since the winter as the Panthers open a shortened 2020 season against Southeast Warren on Monday. Knoxville is coming off a 15-13 season last year and has a new coach in Carla Smith. Senior third baseman Maddy Findley says the team is reaching high for achievements this summer including conference and a trip to Ft. Dodge.

Findley:
“Our biggest goal is making it to state. But some of our smaller goals is winning the conference, and making it to the second round because we haven’t made it to the second round in a couple of years.”

Monday’s game can be heard on 95.3 KNIA starting with the pregame at around 7:15pm.
